The only article (yet?) about the less than 10 minutes REI-Co-op 2026 annual meeting and what should be done?

Here is the link to the February 6th article by Nate Sanford, Below are the last 2 sentences:

"As with last year’s election, REI did not share how many members cast votes, or what percentage voted for or against the slate of candidates.

In a departure from last year’s board meeting, REI did not take questions from members, and concluded the meeting after less than 10 minutes."

My reaction is how long can we tolerate such a contemptuous behaviour by REI leadership in regard to the membership they claim/pretend to respect?

How long can said membership (supposedly 8,2 million voting eligible according to the 2024 audit bottom of page 10) remain totally passive when confronted with the abuses of such a 10 member clique?

From my far away French history class I remember the 'cahiers de doléances", grievances notebooks.

I intend to figure out and write down a set of questions/grievances that I'll email to the board of directors. I'll post a copy of it and I'll invite you to email as well those questions and any additional ones you would have to the clique, sorry the board.

I think it is time for fed up coop members to start organizing to put an end to this clique of 10 oligarchy.

PS: it's not that I expect a diligent answer from the clique but it's time to publicly ask them the questions they are too afraid to face within a public debate.

Maybe a few journalists could also start asking them to answer such questions?

Here are the 9 questions I had sent in early January that remained without any answer (of course).
