Why I care about the REICoop election mockery and I hope the Board of Directors can be defeated (again)

 

I guess the first reason I care is that I don't like being mistreated as a dummy.

The present and previous members of REI-COOP have consistently for years abused the membership that it's true let itself be abused by so called elections that are anything but a mockery.

Look for the best definition of mockery to be applied to the caricature of an election process established when? years ago? it would be good to know exactly how it took place and clearly ask of its immediate abandon.

How pompous and incredibly offensive in the present Chair trying to make members supportive of their scheme, as if they did not realize how sleazy they are. I mean, who can accept that after having its candidates defeated, the Board can coopt 3 new Board members as if nothing took place? How used to corporate omnipotence can you be to behave that way? Ever thought of resigning after a total defeat? Of course that would mean relinquishing a convenient perk so no way. Let us keep trying to convince the stupid members that all is well and the mockery can continue?

No way. Not again.I hope to start a campaign to get rid of this mockery and all the corporate puppets that have been part of it. Vaste programme as de Gaulle would have said. I guess the first step it to try to wake up the media to the start of this 2026 election mockery and inform REIcoop members they can defeat this renewed attempt at making fools of the bas peuple membership, only good to approve nominated candidates or else accept the corporate type substitutes imposed on them without any democratic support. But as Andy Ryan exposed more than 20 years ago in his classic article, the COOP part of REI-COOP is of no use for the Board of Directors. Rather annoying so let us dispose of a real election process with a diversity of candidates to allow a meaningful choice, and let us impose a mockery. After so many years, I hope the time has come to end it.

But enough complaining. Let us act. Maybe The Stranger will again complain about the REICOOP election mockery.
